We're testing educational software in the most remote areas of the country. It's beautiful but it's also important work, remembering schools most companies forget about.
You can do a surprising amount of development on the road, but it tends to be an all-or-nothing situation. There are still large parts of the country where wi-fi is non-existent.
It's impossible to get the attention of teachers and administrators for the next few weeks, so we are going on a road trip testing our educational software under remote conditions. If you are in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota or North Dakota and want to meet up, let us know.
Should you move to another country, found another company, live away from your husband or all of the above? Should you apply for Startup Chile? I’ve been asked this question by a couple of people recently and here is my answer. Startup Chile was a great experience and although I […]
When releasing 2 games isn’t what took most of my time this month, you know it has been crazy busy. Start a company so your time is your own, they said… Shaking my head so hard I think it will fall off. We DID release two games that got overshadowed […]

This is a more recent “throwback” from a post written by Ann Maria in August 10, 2018. However, it seems very relevant to anyone travelling or debating travelling this year of 2019. I, Julia De Mars, personally related to this surprisingly a lot since I seem to move just when […]
It takes a lot and I mean A LOT to get myself motivated to basically do anything as evidenced by the fact that my Motivation Monday is getting published on Saturday. Why? I don’t know. My mom would also like to know, but sorry it’s just how I’m wired I […]
by Julia De Mars I’ll be honest here, I have a very hard life. I’m studying for a semester in London, England, a horrible and uncultured place. Hate it. I have met too many great people already, like seriously go away I have things to do- games to test! There […]
I knew that making educational software for Latino children in the U.S. and for children in Chile would need to be different. I just didn’t how or how much until I spent the last year working with schools here. How Spanish speakers used our bilingual software In the U.S. , […]
Welcome back to the latest issue of the Startup Diaries: Santiago Edition. Accelerator staff often advise when pitching an investor to discuss the global market for their product because it is going to be significantly bigger than the U.S. market. I’ve always found that a little odd. For example, well […]
