We are pleased to present our brand new demo of Spirit Lake: The Game that you may download for FREE. Our demo consists of a portion of the first level of Spirit Lake: The Game and will give you a taste of what is available in the full game.
So what exactly is Spirit Lake: The Game all about? It is a computer game (that works on both a Mac and PC) that focuses on numbers and operations and the traditions of the Dakota people. Students explore a virtual world, find medicine to save their tribe, escape from rabid wolves and go on a buffalo hunt while solving math equations along the way.
The game is aligned with fourth- and fifth-grade Common Core math standards. When students get answers wrong, they’re routed to learning modules they must complete to return to gameplay.
Throughout the game we test student on their comprehension of math concepts. We quiz in ways that ensure students grasp the information covered, not by using multiple-choice options where kids can just guess.
