βWeβre trying to insert as much cultural content as possible,β [cultural consultant Erich] Longie said, including information on customs and famous chiefs. βWe want to give students history from our side.β
Longie said heβs excited for how the game can help both native and non-native children learn.
For Native American children, βit helps them understand who they are and where they come from,β Longie said. βI think it will bring the races closer together if a non-native kid plays the game β I think he would have a lot of respect for us.β
The piece ran in in the Grand Forks Herald and the Fargo Forum.
