If a picture is worth 1,000 words, an educational video should be worth at least 10,000, donโt you think? So, what’s videopalooza?
Do you have enough time to make videos for your class?
In my life, whether I was teaching middle school math or multivariate statistics to graduate students, I never felt like I had the time for everything I wanted to do. Sometimes I would make videos and sometimes I would think about making videos but I’ve already graded papers and read up on the assignment for tomorrow, put away the groceries and it was 11 pm.
Over the past few years, we’ve made hundreds of videos to teach students about everything from Ojibwe and Dakota methods of fishing to convert mixed numbers to fractions to synonyms.
Daniel Mondaca, our amazing Country Manager in Chile has been hard at work categorizing all of our videos as we work on our new teacher site. Think of him as a school librarian but younger and cooler. (Yes, I know some young, cool school librarians. Wait! No, I don’t. I know OF some.)
So, for the next week we’ll be posting two or three videos every day on this blog. If you don’t follow us on twitter (what?), Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, you can always subscribe to our newsletter and get a bunch of them delivered to you at once. You can also click on any of those cool icons at the bottom of the page to follow us on any social media.
